Here's something interesting... according to ANN Hans Zimmer is doing the score for Blood + (the anime series.) I know he's scored American animated films before, but has he ever done an anime? And not to sound, well, condescending, but why would a billboard-name Hollywood film composer sign on for a Japanese anime series? Isn't that a huge step down professionally?
I guess it's possible he's an otaku at heart. Or very bored...
EDIT: Some web searching reveals that the Blood+ score is being written by Mark Mancina and produced by Hans Zimmer. From what I can tell (based on Zimmer's website) this is either the first time for Zimmer to be working on an anime, or at least the first in a while.

Scoring for a television series is different than a major motion picture, so perhaps he's trying it out. He's not a regular style composer and he might be working with another person, too. I may have to look into the score because I'm curious as to what he's doing with it.
