So, besides watching a few Monster episodes, I am brooding over the fact that I don't have any new Katara/Zuko fic to read. I've already read all the ones I have on author alert, and I suppose I could go browse the latest two days in FF.net... which I probably will do anyway... but that rarely yeilds fruitful results. And the comm is slow the last few days too.

::pout:: Fic, fic, where are you? I really need some season2 K/Z fic. I've only found a few so far.

Also, I'm getting a strange desire to make dirty joke Aang/Katara icons. Specifically, using the river scene from episode 2.2, to these lyrics. Such an icon would sure get one sent to the Special Hell. I can't decide which would be better with these pics in the third row:

"You do one for Mama / She'll do one for you"

"Don't you know that this hand / Washes that one too"

"When you're strokin' Mama / Mama's strokin' you"

....Yeah, the Special Hell.

In other A:TLAB news, I'm really jealous that iTunes has the new episode out already, a week early. That's cruel and unusual punishment to the rest of us.

Now onto Monster episode 20...

How so? You haven't found any at all? Or have you found too many and they all suck?

I've found one chapter fic so far that I liked. (don't remember the title off the top of my head, but it's on my story alert)

And another fic I was reading ("Not Me" on ff.net) just made an entertaining transition from AU season 1 to an AU with season 2 content.

I just found one that I'm about to read, even though the opening two sentences have about 11 adjectives or adverbs in them for only two or three, which kills me to read. But I'm desperate, and maybe it'll lighten up in later paragraphs.

How can we be the biggest damn ship in the fandom and have so little decent fic?

Mathematics are involved in the answer to that question, I'm sure.

More like: Biggest 'Ship (times) Median Age of Fandom (x ='s 12, in this case) (equals) Bad Fic, Squared.

Or something.

"Nobody knows, it's a mystery!"

How can can Fruits Basket be such a well-written, intelligent series but have an overwhelming amount of such mind-numblingly-STUPID fanfiction written for it?

How can so many people write Azula-the-sex-kitten fic when she's probably more likely to rip a man's penis off with her electric fingernails and then feed it to him?

How is it that our fandom treats the faintest twitch of canon toward either ship as the be-all, end-all of any argument?

It's a mystery.

A mystery wrapped in an enigma, baked in a puzzle, and pissed on by juvenile lobotomy patients.

And Azula's nails scare and awe me. Zuko may be hot stuff with the swords, but Azula's manicure? Impressive.

* 11 adjectives or adverbs in them for only two or three nouns

I wrote a review. It was one of my late-night-pick-a-victim-pet-peeve reviews, which have been known to inspire four possible reactions:

1. ignoring me
2. crying
3. indignant denail / hate email
4. realization on their part and a change of whatever annoying habit.

I don't have much hope for #3 in this case, but I did once shame someone into not doing the "I won't update unless I get 10 reviews thing" anymore, and I got someone else to stop putting author's notes in the middle of their chapter text. So there's always hope.

Oh, wait: I know this fic. I have (tentative) hope. I'm planning to keep it on my radar till chapter 3; from the looks of things, the third chapter should be a good indicator of what this writer can pull off.

Really? That's good news. I've been keeping up with this conversation so I actually still haven't clcked over to the window and read past the first paragraph yet.

I just added it to story alert. I think it might be entertaining, and even the two chapters it has so far are pretty decent compared to a lot of what's out there.

I think if someone tried to figure out the mathematical equasions for fandom, fiction, and canon and how the three relate, their head would end up exploding.

Fandom is not meant to be understood, only feared.

T__T I used to search the directory a lot, but now I just stick to the C2 and read whatever pops up in my inbox. Which is good for me, since it's new fic, but bad for you, since you're the one doing all the work.

I don't think of it as work. It's my hobby, and I'd be reading this stuff anyway. :)

But seeing as I read almost zero Aang/Katara or Katara/other or slashfic, I am counting on you guys to add anything interesting you come across.
