Watching Munich. Only a few minutes in and I had to look up two words: sabra and yekke. Thanks, Wikipedia.

It's interesting, very interesting, but I think this movie is going to make me sad. Call it a hunch based on the marketing and the mood of the first twenty minutes.

Is that the new Bond that I'm spotting at the table? Interesting.

This is about an event I actually know almost nothing about, so I'm probably getting my education on it from this film, and film is a horrible way to be educated about anything. Film is fantastic at emotional education, but the worst source for a legitimate, factual accounting of known events. Unfortunately, it's here and I'm watching it, and it's too late to pre-educate myself now.

Yep, that's the flick I saw. Ages ago. I didn't even really like it then, but I think I was about 15 or something when I saw it.

I recommend it. But it's long, and you should pick a night when you feel like something emotionally heavy. Then lay back and absorb. I had a few quibbles with some of the structure choices of the film, but overall it comes with a high recommendation. It didn't totally rock my socks off my feet, but it was interesting and moving and dramatic and well acted. Eric Bana is fantastic and really, really carries the film. For someone who doesn't really move his face all that much and kind of looks like a wall most of the time, he did a fine job of conveying emotions. I think it's his eyes. They're magic, and he sends you his emotions from his eyes directly into your brain instead of using facial expressions like normal people.

He and Geoffrey Rush play off each other very well, too.
