Edit: If you have any recommendations on LJcomms I should pimp this at, let me know and I will. I'm especially ignorant of fandoms for television shows or movies, which I don't visit as often as anime comms.

I don't hardly ever do challenge comms, so I have a question. Are you allowed to mix & match media? Like, do a sketch for one theme and a fic for another? And are icons considered 'an acceptable media?'

Icons aren't, but you can mix and match fanart and fanfiction. Though if you wanted to use the list and post it at your own journal and say you got the list from 64damn_prompts, then by all means do so. The list itself is free once it's out there; I just want the comm postings to be fanfiction or fanart.

Hmm...intriguing. I have to say I find myself tempted by this even though I've already signed up for a challenge community I'm procrastinating on (100_situations).

Let me make sure I'm getting this straight though... You're saying that you don't really claim anything for this...you just take the prompt list and write any fic for each prompt, yes?

Yep. I don't like the claiming thing-- I like the idea of having a list and working through it at your own pace, and others being able to use the list for the same fandom/characters without claims.

The prompt responses can be fanfic or fanart (or both), anything from drabbles to whole fics to 1sentence stuff. It's very open.

There's also no deadline but the one you give yourself, so if you see a few prompts and get ideas, go ahead and post them.
