I just gave a cute boy my phone number/email address and ran in the other direction. Yay me!

I'm trying to figure out how best to make a hit-and-run joke! ("Hit on, run!" -- ?)

Anyway, go you. ♥

 I reserve my giggles for close friends and for livejournal (ironically, two very different groups but both ones where I feel free to giggle to my heart's content.)

Actually, it was pretty smooth. For me. We'd been standing at the same service window in the admin building, and recognized each other from a class last quarter. We talked about summer classes (not the same ones) and then I was done with the window and I walked out, and we exchange a kind of awkward goodbye and "see you" when you know the chances of actually seeing this person again are next to none. So I walked outside, took out a piece of paper, and wrote my phone number and email down. He walked out past me just as I finished, so I caught up to him (like ten feet here) and asked him where he was going, I was going to the bookstore. He said he was going home. I said something like "Well, I'm probably never going to see you again, so this is for you," and he took it and without looking at it saying "Thanks". I wasn't sure if his genuinely thankful sounding thanks was because he gets numbers a lot, because he thought I was giving me a coupon for free pizza or something, or because he was honestly thankful. I had to run off to the bookstore. I was in a genuine hurry for time. But, I admit, I was also so totally running away.

That sounded smooth. Much better than I would have done. The part where words came from your mouth was a big step. I can imagine just stuttering, and throwing a balled up piece of paper and running with my arms flailing in the air.

You done good, *crosses fingers*

Did you run off giggling and flailing your arms? *has own, vivid memories*

I ran off to the bookstore, with no flailing. In my head I was flailing, though.

Dignity is an important thing to hold onto - at least until the third date :p
