House premiere: This is my confused face

A significantly major-ass question about continuity:

I thought House couldn't walk properly because he was missing muscle in his leg? As in-- it's physically not there?

I couldn't really get into the rest of the episode because I was distracted by that gaping plot hole.

They've actually discussed this over in one of the comms. Some people who know doctors mentioned this and, apparently, someone with House's injuries CAN still walk/run/etc. They were saying, in House's case, it seemed to be more mental trouble holding him back.

Oh? Now that's interesting. The medical professional where I've been discussing the ep has been saying it's impossible. If it isn't impossible, I'd be a lot happier with the ep [g]

I thought it was really strange myself. I'll go back in the comm posts and see if I can't find the discussion(s). It came up more than once. I found them last week, when I was catching up on what'd been happening in the fandom (spoilers, etc.) while I was gone. I can't say much more about anything - since I've actually read the spoilers - but things should be interesting for the character in upcoming eps.

He was shot last season and underwent an experimental pain treatment. Now he seems able to run, but that doesn't make sense-- even if his pain was gone he should still have a limp. The show is contradicting itself.
