You all need to catch up on Avatar: The Last Airbender right now. Because it's getting GREAT.

I just watched episode 2x17 "Lake Laogai" early, because even though it hasn't aired yet it is online at Turbonick [on the main front page hit "top rated"].

It's the best episode of season 2 so far. The best since "Seige of the North" at the end of season 1.

I can't believe how much this show has grown and improved in just 27 episodes. I adore the Ba Sing Se subplot and once again I love the overall continuity of all the character arcs and the parallels and the timeline of events.

My favorite line of the episode :

Zuko: "Out of my way, skinny!"

I also caught movie references for 2001: Space Oddysey and Silence of the Lambs... you can argue with me on the last one but I'm pretty confident on the 2001 ref.

akavertigo while I watching watching... except for the last 9 minutes, which I could only watch and stare at in uninterrupted glee. Non-spoilery, but here is an excerpt from our conversation. I'm posting it for posterity's sake, and to remind me not to make assumptions because you know what happens when you do.

rashaka: [Zuko] can't wear that hair as well as Jet, who has the longer face.
akavertigo: true
akavertigo: and Zuko's hair is finer so he'll never have that volume

akavertigo: ....are we talking about hair and volume?
rashaka: I was. you have a gutterbrain // akavertigo: we're going to talk about shoes next aren't we?
