A little curiosity of mine...

[Poll #863815]

* as the meticulously awesome [livejournal.com profile] permetaform pointed out, the so-called "correct" answer above is not actually, technically correct, just somewhere to the left of correct. But you knew what I meant, right?

I always thought the term 'special hell' was one of almost affection to those in the fandom who have thought or done things most normal people would consider horrible or really really weird - like Piglet/Pooh porn, or hobbitorgy.

It's sort of been adopted to mean that in the general sense, yes. But it has a pretty specific meaning, too, as described in the original source.

Frandom traditionally, Piglet/Pooh probaby wouldn't get you into the Special Hell. Christopher/Piglet might, though, if you looked at it the right way.

Or a picture of Piglet with six breasts, be that never so technically accurate.

::blinkblinks at the number of people who picked the Browncoats::

::blushing:: Curse you! Your geekery totally beats mine stone dead.

I meant Browncoats in the generic fan way, since it was the most obscure yet-not-too-obscure way I could think of to allude to said source.

Literally speaking, though, you are of course right. An independent the doctorman probably wasn't. I think he was in the abbey at the time, though.

ahhh okay, that makes sense then.

Hee, eventually I want to make a vid about Book and the Agent about their stories melding. Haven't found a song for it yet tho.

Technically speaking? He wasn't a Browncoat. I'm just sayin'!

Yeah, I chose 'other' cause it wasn't the browncoats who said it. It was Book to Mal in "Our Mrs. Rennolds"

There are SO MANY Firefly quotes that I didn't know were from Firefly until I watched Firefly. It was kind of cool.

I've heard "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!" out of context, and every time I loved it.

For a show set in space, it has a hell of a lot of quotes that can be lifted verbatim.

I love sneaking Firefly/Serenity quotes into daily conversation to see if anyone bites. It hasn't happened yet with a stranger, but I'm holding out hope. We fans are out there-- we're out there!

I'm surprised the second question doesn't have an "all of the above."

Couldn't help myself; I'm headed to Special Hell because I talk a lot in the theater...mostly MST'ing the movie I'm watching.

And I didn't vote Tuesday. Looks like P. Diddy will be coming after me....
