I love looking at people's icons, but I don't always *get* them - I often wonder stuff like, "Who's that guy?" or "Where's that quote from?" but I tend not to ask, for various reasons. So come on, here are my icons. Pick one (or more!) you're curious about, and I'll try to explain it. Or at least explain what I like about it.

Where, on this good earth, is that image in your 'Mummer's Witch Dance' icon from? What anime/animated anything? It enchanted me the first time I saw it but I never remembered to ask.

But I'm familiar with the song and artist; love Loreena, and her musical adaptations to literature get me everytime. Even when she did exclude my favorite paragraph of 'Lady of Shalott.'

It's from the anime Tweeny Witches (Mahou Shojo Alice). It's a little young in its audience (like early Naruto episodes) but the storyline is interesting and the art is AMAZING. It is half traditional animation and half CG cell animation, but the character design is enchanting (odd angles, jagged but fascinating lines) and the backgrounds are jaw-droppingly AMAZING. I screencapped so many shots that just took my breath away with their use of color and light. It's the most beautifully animated tv anime series I've ever seen.

So pretty! They're all insanely pretty! And they're not pretty in the conventional way either; they're not shiny nor do they impress a person with how mystically wavy the hemline is (*glances over at CLAMP*). I especially like that second one for its coloring and the last pic makes me laugh and gawk at the same time. (the subtitles)

"Hey. Is the Grand Master cool? She have long nails?" looks like something that belongs in something... meta, I guess, if only for poking at fun at several villains I can name.

Hmmm. 40 episodes. I have yet to prioritize my To-Do list, and I'm on the verge of chickening out and just going straight to FLCL, which is a nonstressful 6 episodes - but the art is so pretty! I'll watch anything if its pretty <-- not exaggerating.

I even watched Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses today for the pretty and the ballet and the dancing (CURSE YOU, PRINCESS TUTU!), and didn't mind the Mary Sue-ish qualities so much because they could and did dance, and it was really nice how they pirouetted and stuff.
