Who's the one who put out the list of Kakasaku fanfics to read? Who's the one who put "Duty Before Honor" on the list and thus tempted me to read it?

See, I was saving the latest chapter as a little treat for myself, a reward for finishing NaNo, to be accompanied by the eating of the chocolate. It's a good thing I have some chocolate left over, because somehow this chapter 17 has failed to cheer me up. In fact, upon finishing it I rather found myself repeating "damnit" to my empty room.

So, let's review. Why am I in the throes of fangirl upsetness? Because I read this fic. Who recommended the fic and is thus the cause of my depression?

It depressed me too. After sucha fluffy reunion in the caves, it's this? Realistic maybe, but DEPRESSING. I told the author in my review that she doesn't have to make it fluffy, but the ending better have some EMOTIONAL PAYOFF (and hopefully good smut) or the whole story will have been a waste.

If it makes you feel better... for my kakasaku fic I was waffling between having a mutually good first time and having Sakura seduce drunken Kakashi into bed then regret it like hell the next morning (which I had fun writing dialouge for.) But after reading the latest chapter of DBH, I decided to chuck the drunken sex thing and make sure that if they ever actually have sex in my fic, it's going to be non-regrettable hot consensual sex. Maybe they won't be flowers and puppies afterward, but the actual sex act is going to be GOOD. To counteract DBH and bring balance to the verse. The fanficverse needs BALANCE after this. BALANCE!

I know!! I sent her a message saying "I hate myself for agreeing with what you've done." You've nailed it exactly. I was really, really looking at least for good smut, if maybe not complete resolution. And I didn't even get that!! *can't even imagine not having a semi-happy ending*
