Dude, in my canon he TOTALLY marries Rebecca. Cause she deserved to get her man, dammit.

Fun book. Light-hearted, somewhat boyish, jovial. Of course there's also torture and murder and warfare, but all of that doesn't stop the joviality of the characters. The Black Knight is noble and fun, Ivanhoe is noble and serious, Cedric is a guy's guy and everyone's drunk uncle, Athelstane is basically Dryden from The Vision of Escaflowne, Rowena is well-intentioned but useless, Locksley is clever and Rebecca... IS AWESOME.

Two thumbs up for the author Sir Walter Scott. I've read better and prettier books, but this is certainly an entertaining book.

He's really not--nobody in this book is what I'd call "sexy". But he just had this amusing scene at the end of the novel where he totally reminded me of Dryden.

Ah. Well, Dryden is prominently sexy IMO, so that's about the first word the comparison prompted.

At least I finally got to use this icon. Unfortunately, it's pretty difficult to inject Dryden into most context. :(
