Hey fandom, what's up?

I've been away from Livejournal fandom for a bit, so this is me checking in. What's going on?

What shows are on, what shows are in waiting? Has the new season of Avatar started yet? Has the third season of Doctor Who ended? Is Veronica Mars as good this season as last season? (be vague, no spoilers.) Is BSG still going strong, or has it again suffered a massive descent into suck like season 2? Has Derrick on Grey's Anatomy finally been eaten by a grizzly bear?


Anything crazy and fandom-specific happened yet? Any actors breaking from their signature roles? (besides Hermione of HP, someone on my team told me about that.)

Any new OTPs that have totally taken over your entertainment and internet hours? Any fanfic recs I just absolutely must know about?

Anything new in your personal lives, like marriages and babies and stuff? I'd love to hear any and all of it.


BTW, keep an eye out for news about the 100 Homes In 100 Days project in Mississippi, which kicks off on Monday and will be receiving considerable media attention.

The third season of Doctor Who hasn't started yet. I think it starts next Friday. BSG....I've kind of fallen out of love with that show. Lots of people love it, but I don't. Avatar...I have no idea if the new season has started yet.

I'm still waiting to see if Supernatural will be renewed for a third season.

I'm still waiting to see if Supernatural will be renewed for a third season.

Last I heard (via Ausiello) it was 60/40, in favor of a third season. Kripke's kinda acting like it's gonna happen, but who knows? I'm keeping a positive outlook ...

I've been hearing rumors that Veronica Mars has not been confirmed for a season after this one, and that this season sucks, but at the moment I have no way of verifying it.

The Avatar community was going crazy a few weeks back with rumors of season 3 starting everwhere from March 17 (which didn't happen) to September 19 (which had people threatening to abandon it). The most recent date I've heard was sometime in late April, but this is apparently from IMDB and therefore not trustworthy.

However, some legitimate spoilers have apparently started surfacing (apparently Mike and Bryan did a press conference or made some statements that got out or Lord only know what) again, so I would take this as a good sign that the next season may be starting soonish.

(You were still here during the whole "School Time Shipping" thing, right?)

Apparently Meredith Grey died...and then came back to life. This made me sad. It was also the same night the OC ended.

There's a new chapter of "The Window" up...other than that, I don't think I've read too much mindblowing fanfiction recently. katara_zuko is in the dying days of a "you talk in your sleep" challenge that produced some pretty funny stuff, but it's mostly been stumbling over the occasional one-shot.

I met someone who has the DVDs of Firefly, and might actually get around to seeing it before the end of the school year. If he can be convinced to lend them out for more than 30 seconds at a time. *eyeroll*

The legitimate spoilers that was mentioned in the press conference, are the exact same spoilers that were released last year exactly a day before season two started. Basically, nothing new has been announced on Avatar and still no air date for season three.

update: recently, someone wrote into Nickelodeon, requesting to know when the show would be airing, and posted the response they got over at DH or Avatarspirit or one of those places, which said the new season wouldn't be airing until the fall.

BSG season three has been awful. JUST MY OPINION. But when the only characters I like are Chief Tyrol and his family, and I wouldn't mind if every other character bit the bullet, then I don't really feel there's much left for me to stick around for. A number of my friends have enjoyed it, though! So there's that?

A majority of the VM watchers on my list are terribly disappointed with the third season. There are two things going around about the future of the show, Kirsten (or whatever the hell her name is) announced that the CW canceled the series, but then she backpedaled two days later, saying it wasn't confirmed. But i heard from somebody who is pretty reliable with the inside info where the CW is concerned (via the SPN fandom) VM is canceled, the CW didn't want it to get out and Kirsten had to retract the statement, acting as though it wasn't a done deal.

DW starts its third season on March 31st. Outside of Martha, I'm not terribly excited about anything I've heard rumor-wise for the new season. Just too much wacky bullshit. I just hope I can hang on.

The second (and final) series of Life On Mars is currently airing and it is very good, imo. They're wrapping the story up in three more eps and I can't wait to see how they explain things. ((bites nails))

Veronica Mars the character continues to own me, but her show has been a little meh, and now I hear that it's either going to be dead or radically altered, so. :(

My obsessive fan hours are currently taken up with Heroes, which hooked me with a series of eps guest starring Christopher Eccleston(!), then reeled me in with prophacy and free will and Claire, who owns me like Season 1 Veronica Mars owned me, and Hiro Nakamura, who IS LOVE, and the way it does like anime by taking ridiculous situations and approaching them with such earnesty that I can't help but get drawn in. I'm also going back to read all the awesome Josh/Donna fics TWW fandom produced. Damn, but that fandom drew some serious talent.

Also. avatar_fans has been spammed lately with "OMG WHEN DOES SEASON THREE START!!!" and "OMG IMDB SAYS SEASON THREE STARTS ON _________!!! AND IMDB ALSO SAYS ZUKO WILL GO TO FOODCOURTIA!!!!!!!!!" and "OMG LIVE ACTION MOVIE, HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT IT?!?!??!!"
