timepiececlock: (Doctor [Nine] smiles)

What an unusual first impression.

She's a doctor, or soon to be. Good. Mind of a scientist.

Rain going up? That would be awesome to see, actually. And profoundly disturbing.

On the moon. I feel bad for the sick gal who had her window open.

All this crying is a bit pre-epmtive, I think. I'm pretty sure the crying would hit me much later, after taking a while for the truth to actually sink in and be real. My natural skepticism is pretty high.

"Are we trespassing on the moon or something?" As far as identifying with characters, I'd say I'm probably more like her in my daily interactions than Rose. I ask a lot of random, quizzical questions, usually just to vocalize whatever I'm curious about.

"Rose. Her name was, Rose, and, and we-were-together." Wow if that isn't ambiguous. The Doctor is ever so awkward, sometimes.

And what an interesting difference we're seeing now between Ten and Nine. Nine actually *did* want to be on his own until Rose forced her way to his attention... but Ten seems barely able to handle it. He needs the social feedback, desperate to fill that gaping hole. He seems to be as afraid of loneliness as Nine was of emotional bonds. He'd invited Martha when the adventure started; getting her into the Tardis is just a formality to seal the companionship deal. Rose, you did a number on him.

Um, I realize I'm a bit late with everyone's fan reaction to the third season, but if you feel like reminiscing, I'd love to talk about eps as I go.

I loved Smith and Jones! It was probably one of my favourite episodes of the third season.

I love Ten. Never really warmed up to Martha (though I liked her in this episode), but I've come to terms with it. And you're spot-on about Ten's loneliness. He is SO desperate for company, yet he simultaneously keeps Martha at a distance, as if afraid of besmirching Rose's memory. He practically seduces Martha to come along and then backs off as soon as she agrees.

I also love his manic energy in this one - all that craziness and faux!happiness jammed in so he can distract himself from thinking about all his Emo Time Lord pain. *sniff*
