Jan. 21st, 2003 10:11 pmHm... made some new icons when I was bored last night... played around with various clips of Buffy & Spike from the screencaps I just learned how to make from .avi clips.
Just found a nice download of "All That Jazz" by Liza Minelli... a song I've been thinking I'd like to hear again after watching Chicago-- which was fantastic, btw. The movie version was nicely sung by Katherine Zeta Jones, but I went went for Liza Minelli, because I've always liked her. anyone like Cabaret? I watched that movie when I was fourteen, and loved it. The music was fantastic. And I know some people knew this already-- but the MC in the club in Cabaret was the same actor who years later played the lizardy Doc on Buffy.
Weirdly, Cabaret was one of the first movies I ever saw with a very adult, non-stereotypical portrayal of a three-way relationship where part (of course, being three-way) was a homosexual one. I loved the line where Liza's character in a fight goes "Oh yeah, well I'm cheating with [so-and-so]!", and her semi-boyfriend kind of smiles and says "So am I." :cackle: It was classic.
Hm.... I wonder if I've talked about Cabaret in LJ before? I really can't remember, but I don't think so. Anyway, that was a good musical. Great film about messed up people in complicated relationships, and a great film about how war changes the world & society you live in.
