I've finally figured out what's bothered me about Zuko so far this season. I think the writers are killing time with his character; he's been indecisive for more than 20 episodes now.

This episode was amusing filler. I think the message was "Even spoiled, vicious brats with no respect for others have sob stories, if anyone's interested." And by that I mean all four FN kids.

Azula amused me the most this episode, with her backward attempts at socializing. My favorite line: "That sounds really shallow and stupid. Let's try it."

A close second in humor was the Zuko/Mei breakup-reunion. Since season 3 started I've found it consistently amusing that fandom is arguing about Maiko as if it were some grand, epic saga and the writers are treating it like a big joke, the typically frustrating adolescent relationship. It's mostly about discovering the joy of making out, followed by that phase of realizing that there's a lot about the person that you actually find to be annoying as hell, and then finally rounded up by realizing that maybe their annoying traits are tolerable, and after all they ARE the only person who's willing to make out with you. I'm not belittling the epic love story at work here, because there isn't one. Sure they may actually love each other a few years from now, when they're not stupid teenagers, but what we're looking at right now is not that.

I wonder if the psychic guy is going to be Aang's teacher?

I loved all the stuff with Ty Lee in this episode. Especially that she knocked all the boys out cold, then just went back to the party attitude.

Why do they have beach balls that have stripes? They could have made the beach balls look more... you know, like rolled up sheep hide or something.

I adored all the costuming in this episode. Except for the persistence of the color red, hands down the Fire Nation is the best dressed nation.

The only thing that bugged me about this episode was that they went back to trash the guy's house. It bugged me because it reminds me how immature all of them are, how petty. On the other hand, if they'd trashed his house and THEN handed him a bill saying the Royal Family would pay for all the damages... that would have been stylish. But Azula's not that classy, I guess.

I have NEVER seen it put better! Bravo. Really. Teenage Maiko is just that... TEENAGE Maiko. Grown-up Maiko may be far different or even non-existent.

Personally, after this ep... I'm shipping Tyko. Ty Lee seemed to care more about Zuko than his "cranky girlfriend" did. lol!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt sorry for Chan's Nana.

So. Maiko. Will it last? Yay or Nay? I really can't tell. :)

Ha, Azula paying for any of the damage she causes... that's something I'd like to see. Oh the joys of cleaning up post-party... oh wait I always leave, lol. Jk.

Ty Lee was pretty amazing!

Oh, "The Beach." It was, in fact, hilarious. I laughed harder than I had laughed at any work of art in a very long time.

Overall, though, I'm getting so crazy confused by how I feel about Avatar at this point that I don't know if I actually liked this episode or not. I feel like I did, but that I was also annoyed by several major flaws (Toph's comments, the house-destroying, etc.) that it had. Which is kind of what a lot of the season has been feeling like. *shrugs*
