Ok, so there's a lot of bad Spike/Faye fic out there. These are the good ones. Well...er.... really good ones and the ones that are just ok but I liked anyway for the pairing. You can sort them out to yor taste; I just kept away from the bad bad baddies. From there, look at the author's favorites lists for further inspriation. Also, I tried not to repeat the same author even if I liked two of their fics. So look at profiles.

NOTE: These are NOT in order. There's some amazing ones at the beginning, middle, and end too, so look at the whole list.

Here's my great list, both spoilery and un:

- to date, my FAVORITE. It's continued in it's sequel, Leadbelly, also found on ff.net. This is Spike and Faye all beautiful and destructive and in love and hating each other and hot and cold and touching and it just makes me gush like Spuffy fan. Also, she writes Jet and Ed criminally good too. And there's plot. Actual good plot. And the last line of the last chapter made me giddy and think of BTVS & OutofMyMind.

2. Ain't Afraid to Die by Cassandra ~ http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1317477
- One of my favorite WIPs, like the previous and the next one. She writes great character moments and great action moments, the utter bitch. Plus, she's so so nice when I email her.

3. The Subtle Moments by Ni9h7Ki773N~ http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1356286
- um... sexy and painful and sweet and angsty up the wazoo. I'm horribly attached. Click if you like smart smut.

4. Bell Peppers and Beef by Captain Nemo ~ http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1062897
-Loved this. Fits nicely into canon, and plus its just despicably, revoltingly well written and clever. The jerk. Probably my second favorite CB fic next to "She Wanted to Die" and just beating out "Ain't Afraid To Die" by being completed already.

- A cool AU. Has a somewhat fanon-cliche view of Faye, but I'm likin' it anyway. Not many AU's in this fandom, weirldy.

- A good post-series one. Not my most favorite, but well written.

- good, very plot-driven story.

-I liked. A lot. The author doesn't update often, but has been consistant at least.

-I actually don't like the author personally, because she left a stupid review (it was negative, but that wouldn't have bugged me if it had actually been intelligent and logical too) on one of my stories, and she wrote Buffy/Doyle, which I think leaves her no room to critize Spuffy, a ship which actually was supported by canon, but I'm getting off topic. She's written an interesting Matrix crossover. No ships so far.

- a neat thing that's only 1 long chapter so far, but looks like it might be good for more.

- and it's WIP sequel, Gene Cocktail. Is this Spike/Faye? Yes, and no. It's horribly difficult to explain, and honestly the first three times I read the summary I thought it sounded unbelievably lame, but it's actually damn cool.

- another AU I'm going to reccomend. It's a High School fic, and has a lot of the cliche involved. On the other hand, it has some different stuff, and the Spike/Faye stuff is fun. So I say read it.

-a friendship fic. Road trip. Wonderful characterizations. Both angsty and funny. The style is quirky, but so much of what happens I can imagine happening in a real episode. Her other fics are good reads also, especially In and Atomic Dog and Ballad. Funny.

Actually, I've rewatched some of the later episodes and the movie, and I'm now firmly under the impression that there was no UST between Faye and Jet at all. I'm not saying this just to annoy you by the way-- I just do not get that feeling off them. Which is too bad for Jet, cause he's the nicest person on the ship and he deserves to get some. But I really don't see the Jet thing at all. And maybe Spike/Faye didn't happen, but the end of the series certainly capitalizes on Faye's feelings about Spike, even if its unrequited.

Come on, I gave you a warning! By name! So don't mock what I see as one of only three ships presented on the show at all. There was Spike/Julia, Viscious/Julia, and implied Faye-to-Spike. No implied Faye/Jet, babe.

I rewatched that yesterday. It's on the same DVD as Cowboy Funk. That was hilarious. Their little jokes and snide looks. And then the fact that the girl was so dignified about (and probably amused.)

Not mocking! But it is your LJ so I will back off out of respect. Nevertheless there def were tell tale signs there (mostly from Jet and some from Faye. I believe she had conflicting feelings for both Jet and Spike). The fan girl love for Spike I think over blinds people from seeing any of these subtle forshadowing signs (I have a list at my site btw ;)) Not that I can blame the fanishness over Spike. He's uber cool. Not hot, but definitely cool.

And I'll just say one last thing -- Spike was totally pushing Faye towards Jet -- granted she was probably to infatuated with Spike to realize it but it's definitely apparent. He didn't want her mooning over a lost past like he did. He wanted her to move on and make a future -- since he knew he wouldn't be able to do the same. Which is why I don't see Spike's "attentions" or lack their of as UST. I see them as commeraderie (sp?) and extended platonic affection. For all her bravado. Faye is still is still much the little girl from Speak Like a Child. Faye and Spike are similar and I think part of his aloofness around her is because he recognizes this.

Wow, you pretty much nailed them all! This is kinda strange because I used to be totally obsessed with s/f (Example... (http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1191611)) so like I know half the authors on that list...pimpin drew me s/f fan art for a fic of mine and Ni9h7Ki773N was my beta reader...any done with the nostalgia trip...great job at archiving some of the great ones *wink*.
