People...ship...Sunsan/Teatime? From Hogfather?
That's... weird. I wouldn't have guessed that pairing. I would think Susan's character might find the whole idea rather...repulsive and unflattering to her intelligence.

Date: 2008-05-11 02:13 am (UTC)I think it comes from the fact that Teatime is young and dangerous (and also really, really creepy ashdgkas HIS EYES AARGH) and kinda stalkery and also the only person remotely close to Susan in age?
I can't see it as anything other than him being fucked up and creepy towards her and her being DO NOT WANT but I suppose if that's what you like...?

That was the thing that seems weird about it to me... not only was he more "evil" and unsympathetic than most Discworld characters are in terms of pure, undiluted killing impulses without a shade of gray to his person, but he was also creepy and boring. Like, if he was evil but also charming and tempting then I could understand, but he was so flat. They said he had a nice appearance and could talk sweetly, but underneath he was just creepy and dull. At least, that was my impression of him. I quite liked him as a villain, but I just balk at the idea of shipping him.
You've been in fandom for years and am still surprised when people ship crazy stuff?
Sadly yes. You never REALLY know, you know? I mean, I still remember how utterly flabbergasted I was when I realized that people seriously and whole-heartedly shipped Roy/Ed for FMA anime. I was like, "That's a joke...right? You don't really..." and yet it became the most popular slash pairing in the fandom, which surprises me even more considering that other slash pairings are practically handed to the audience on a silver platter.
You can always be surprised.
