the LJ Layout blues

I'm going to have to re-do my LJ layout at some point. Does anyone have links to any tutorials? I'm terribly weak on LJ code.

I'm thinking... something very Doctor Who, in honor of the season finale tomorrow. If anyone has any headers they'd like to rec, I'd love that too.
