Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] evemac, for pointing me to this DW-mocking comedy sketch with Catherine Tate and David Tennant.

It was unparalleled greatness. I never even considered looking for the actors in sketch comedy appearances! Now I wonder if there's more out there.

"Can we please get back to Shakespeare?! Right, so..."
"D'you fancy Billie Piper, sir?"

I loved the set-up of the clip, with the schoolgirl fantasy of Ten as your hot teacher reading sonnets with a Scottish accent, but turned on its head because Catherine Tate is there and CT owns all.

Although I saw it coming just before hand (I'm sure everyone saw it coming), I still burst out smiling and giggling for "Doctor who?" and the girl's subsequent self-satisfied cheers. It worked because DT played it perfectly. These two actors play off each other so well, even out of context!

And Tate's mouthy snappy monologue! Awesome! I noticed too that the sonnet she recited at the end seemed to make pointed references to Doctor/Rose angst, just because of who she was talking to, which was so meta that it cracked me up. And then he turns her into an action figure. ::snert::

"You house? Is it bigger on the inside?"\

Why did that sound so strangely DIRTY?

Have to seen the anecdote she told on Jonathan Ross Live about how she got her ginger cat?

Hee.

David Tennant's native accent is creamy and delicious and I could bathe in it for hours. OMG. It's sick how lovely it is. Sigh.
