Lily: "And when I hit it, I'm going to go nuts. It's gonna be all night, and I think I want a clown there." ::snert::

This is pretty much how I thought it'd go. Hilarious!

It's been clear for a while now that Barney is so clingy and needy with his circle of friends because he doesn't allow himself to get attached to his sexual partners. So he's being nervous and stressed around Ted because he's genuinely afraid of Ted (and Robin and by extension Lily and Marshall) throwing him away. Like his first girlfriend did.

"For the last time, I'm not going to be your butler."
"I need a lawyer. I'll pay you."
"How much?"
"A little."
"I'll take it."

Best moment? When Ranjit the driver swerves the car because he overheard that Barney slept with Robin. Then he lectures Barney about it.

This fight with Ted is painful. And both the actors are doing a good job, too.

The bar scene with the matching blue shirts was so bad I had to mute it and watch the subtitles. Luckily, it had subtitles. ...I am still bummed about Ted and Barney's breakup. It's just too sad.

Awesome.

1. I'm so shipping Barney with Robin, it's ridiculous. I think Barney's secretly a shipper too. I so called the fact that he'd fall first.
2. Barney+Ted=Bros forever!
3. OMG, but that's not the mother, is she? How many people will he almost commit to?

I want fanfic for #1. I feel a bit weird for wanting it.

ETA: There's a [livejournal.com profile] barneyrobin! I love what LJ has done for fandom, truly I do.

I'm laying odds that's the mother -- no spoilers that I know of, but since Scrubs has mostly ended (except for the few episodes they're going to film for ABC), Sarah Chalke is available. Also, the average life of a series is three years, so the creative team have to know time is not on their side. I don't think they imagined this as a show that would run for seven or eight years, so it would make sense that they might be starting to head toward resolutions.

And, no, you're not weird. I want it too.

Barney/Robin is a beautiful thing. Embrace it! :)

I really do wish there was more good fic, though.

Sure!

Leave No Man Behind -- Jossed now, but I still love this story

This Could Get Messy -- Another one that's been Jossed

'A' Game -- Follows 'The Goat'

Wingman -- AU, sort of background Barney/Robin, but BRILLIANT

And:

Ten Dreams -- Weird post-'Miracles' thing that I wrote. :">

There are others, too, but these are the ones (minus my own) that made it into my del.icio.us bookmarks. I figured that's not a bad place to start!

And I missed this post too! Well, I'm only a day late.

This fight with Ted is painful. And both the actors are doing a good job, too. That's some great acting right there! The final episode, when they make up... I actually teared up... while watching a SITCOM, who would have thought.

LJ has done great things.

I have to say, while I have been shipping Robin/Barney since season 1, but I really didn't like how season 3 played out, for reasons I talk about here:

http://redbrunja.livejournal.com/165811.html#cutid1

And you mentioned in one of your other posts that it's hard to ship Barney with Robin because she's so awesome and Barney is just so... morally bankrupt (why is he my favorite character? Why?)

And thanks so much for knowing people with links - I haven't gotten into the fandom, but I may follow at your heels.

In my LJ memories I have a new section called "HIMYM fic recs" and that's got some Barney/Robin fics in it. 'A' Game is my favorite... it's a wonderful fic about the hookup, and it goes a bit AU in the end but in a totally believable and in-character way.

Yeah, I spotted that one. It was nice and hot and in character. I love the whole 'woo'-ing conversation. The girl's toast.

That "wooing" conversation was made by the line "Brace yourself." That sounded so Barney to me.
