Dr. Horrible: Act II
Jul. 16th, 2008 11:11 pmI love this song that's openning it. NPH really, REALLY sells it. And Felicia Day's voice is lovely too.
"What a crazy random happenstance."
Nathan Fillion in the soup kitchen-- so hilarious! And I just barely noticed Dr. Horrible in the background with a mustache.
"...and they are probably going to French Kiss or something." ::snort::
"How are things with Cheesy On The Outside?"
Penny's outfit with the yellow skirt is practically the entire dress of Snow White.
"She's with Captain Hammer. And these," holds up fists, "are not the hammer." Exit frame, return to frame. "The hammer is my penis." NF delivers that last line with perfection. What a jackass.
I kinda want Dr. Horrible to win out, but he's not exactly nice either--his evil's on the rise, as it were, and he's pretty creepy in his own way.
I want the keys to a shiny new Australia! (How big is that chair?) But not , you know, at the expense of world domination by someone who has a PHD in horribleness.
Wow, this second act is even better. The show just jumped from "wacky cute" to "OMG FAN LUFF". I thought ActI was funny, but the pacing was a bit slow. Act II kicks into gear right off the bat. The songs are even more fun, and the climactic moment of decision is wonderful. Also, my tv crush on NPH has quadrupled with this whole singing thing.
Now I want Barney on How I Met Your Mother to do a kareoke scene! Seriously, if the writers of that show don't give Barney (NPH) a kareoke bar scene in season 4 after watching him as Dr. Horrible, then MY HEART WILL ACHE.

"Listen close to everybody's heart, and hear that breaking sound."

But there needs to be more musicals like this: where you have a good idea already, and decide that "Hey, you know what would make this even better? IF THEY SANG TOO."
