Oohhhhh... Rose has already had several crowning moments of awesome, in seasons 1, 2 and 4... hm...
I'd love to see Rose [ [punch someone in the face. Perhaps someone who was insulting the New New Doctor? Like, WHAM! Out of nowhere. Then she turns to TenII, gives him a quick hot kiss, and says, "I'm not quite the girl you left three years ago." And they stay holding hands the whole time.]]

For Kakashi... I am still waiting for him to pwn Kabuto's ass. I want Kabuto to show up, be all "I'm following in my master's footsteps!" and then Kakashi just ATTACKS him, with no dialogue or speechifying or anything. Just goes at it. There's a few exchanges, a big explosion, the "screen" goes black. Then next chapter Kakashi, beaten and bedraggled, comes through the window in Tsunade's office. He drops something on her desk.


Yep. Kabuto's head, in a bag. He says, "Sorry I'm late for our meeting, Hokage-sama. I brought you a present to apologize. I apologize, also, for it being so small--this was all that I could salvage."

And Tsunade would be like, *EYEBROW RAISE*, "Apology accepted, Hatake. Go take a shower, you smell. ....SAKURA! GET THIS HEAD OUT OF MY OFFICE AND DOWN TO THE LABS! Did he give you trouble?"

Kakashi: "Quite a lot. It was the most fun I've had in a month."

Tsunade: "You really need more friends, Hatake."

Oh, that is fantastic. First, generally speaking, Naruto needs way, way less speachifying in fights, and I love the thought of Kakashi bringing back heads to Tsunade.

And Hatake really does need more friends. Or for his friends to stop dying on him.

Also, why did you pick Kabuto? Do you really not like him, or is it just because he and Kakashi sort of have unfinished buisness?

Kakashi: "I don't do pikes. How about if I put it in a extra-large ziplock?"

I think Kabuto is awesome. Less awesome post-time-jump than he was in pre, but still awesome. He's actually the first person I shipped with Kakashi, though that was more because of the enemies eyefucking during the chuunin exams than because I thought they could have a solid and supportive relationship. (as a matter of fact, it's a little weird that my only choice for yaoi pairings in Naruto is an abusive enemies hatesex pairing.)




For this, I picked him because he and Kakashi were kind of placed at-odds with each other pre-time-jump, in terms of power levels, status as minion to a Sanin, rivalry over control of Sasuke, and even the friggin' hair color. I always wanted to see them fight, especially after the hospital scene in the above icon. (which, to date, is in my top 10 Most Awesome Naruto Confrontation Scenes) But that kind of fizzled out... Kabuto hasn't really ever fought anyone, not even Sasuke. He did fight Tsunade and Naruto, but that didn't really resolve anything. So, yeah, I'm still waiting for him to fight Kakashi. But I'm confident Kakashi would own him.

It's naruto. Abusive enemy hatesex is the easiest thing to ship in this fandom, regardless of whether you like het, slash or yuri.

(I haven't gotten her converted yet, but she hasn't been around much! Anyway, she has apparently seen Dr.H now so she should be susceptible to NPH as a way into HIMYM...must try that approach...)

Barney... well, considering that Barney's primarily defined by his philosophy of slutty bachelor behavior, a crowning moment of awesome for him would have to be somehow overcoming that. Not totally, but in a significant way nonetheless. We saw a mini-crowning moment of awesome when he was in the hospital in the season finale... but I really want him to own his feelings. Even if it doesn't work out, or if it scares Robin away, or he can't stop being a jerk long enough to have a real relationship, I want him to actually tell Robin "I love you."

Knowing what we know about his past, and his hidden squishy insides... I think admitting to himself AND the object of his love that he is capable of love would be a crowning moment of awesome. I want him to reach that point of accepting his own heart, that it's real and it's his and it's still capable of loving a partner.

More HIMYM discussing because I'm in a mood right now

And, I have to add: One of the things that I loved so much about B/R in season 3 is that it fits within the theme of the show, besides just being hot. Even though it's a sitcom, HIMYM is essentially a romance, or the opening act of a romance, and discovering love in unexpected places is a great part of that.

You have Lily and Marshall who are the couple-in-progress, who've found love but are busy with life AFTER the 'happily ever after' begins. And we have Ted/? which will eventually be what Lily/Marshall is, but he hasn't found it yet. And then, unexpectedly... you get Robin/Barney which is a completely different kind of dynamic, with a different kind of fairy tale. Not the kids and white fence and domestic bliss, but something else... a kind of modern, grown up love story for the people who don't want Ted's ideal fairy tale, but who still deserve a romance that's worthy showing on screen as peer to the "traditional" kind that the other two couples have or will have.

This more a small awesome than a big awesome, but...I want to see Zuko put out a fire. A big one. I'm disappointed we never saw firebenders DO that in the show, when it makes so much sense to me! You're living around people who are likely to accidentally start fires, sure, but you're also living around the best firefighters on the planet. Wave your hand and POOF! Fire's out. Firefighting firebenders would have been perfect in early season 3.

Anyway, for Zuko, I think it would have been really nice if we saw him putting out some of the fire in the arena, if the arena caught fire in his fight with Azula. Not only would it be saving the palace from burning down, but it would have been really nice symbolism for Zuko's part in ending the war, as well.
