I was there. I was given 7 free tickets while I was out on the street downtown registering voters, and told to "thank Howard Dean." Thank you Howard Dean! I gave one ticket to a man on the street I'd chatted with earlier who was making a sign to ask for a ticket, then the other six I gave to myself and the people on my canvassing team. I got hugged by several people when I told them.
You damn lucky girl, you. My fiance and I were watching here in Canada--had a party and everything with Obama themed foods. When DDK came up on screen, we were all "SQUEEEE!!!"
I missed him on screen! He must have been on the news coverage, because I'm pretty sure he wasn't on the big screens that were pointed at the stage. We saw him walking by, and waved and hollered, but he was kind of being hustled along. Later he passed under us again (we were on the very front row seats, behind the press tents where all the reporters were milling about), and we hollered, and he paused and shook hands, fist-bumped, and even posed with a picture with us. He didn't really have time to chat but it was very cool of him to give us the time that he did. I've met very few celebrities but he totally scored Cool Points by that.
