Oh, god. First day back living with my rents (temporarily!) and I'm suddenly re-sucked in to Cowboy Bebop fanfiction. Goddamnit! Why must there be so many talented writers in that fandom? Who are STILL writing epic fics ten years after the show ended! Why can't I steal some of your talent for Princess Tutu or How I Met Your Mother or Fruits Basket? But then you wouldn't be writing Spike/Faye fics if I did that, and I'd miss them terribly...

Oh my god, you wouldn't believe how much fic it has. Not as much as DBZ or Gundam Wing, but still--a lot.

And a lot of it for the pairing I ship, too. It's very... well, let's just say that this fandom with ships and fanfic is a lot like kataang vs. zutara, except Katara is a boy, Zuko is a girl, and she-Aang is kind of permanently out of the picture. But the ship divisions are otherwise the same! lots of fic all around, more of it for the "dark and intriguing" pairing than any other, and bad reputations all around.

Except, unlike zutara, practically EVERY fic is smutty or implies smut, because the characters are 20 hot somethings that smoke cigarettes, drink liquor, shoot guns, punch people, fly spaceships, and have questionable morals. =D I love it, of course.

I've read dozens of really cool epic-length fics, and I once had this grand plan for my own before I lost interest in the show. This is one of those things where I love the fanfic even more than the show itself. Though the show is classic anime for a Western anime fan.
