I'm ridiculously addicted to the song Paper Planes from Slumdog Millionaire, but I think it's kind of messed up that some of the regular sounds in the chorus are pistol shots, a gun being cocked, and a cash register. Creative, but disturbing.

*note: the movie's official music video is mildly spoilery, along the lines of a movie trailer, but if you haven't seen the movie then none of it would make sense to you anyway.

Edit: This would make a killer Firefly/Serenity video. Especially if you cut it down to about two minutes instead of four. Or maybe Baccano.

There's another official video from the original release of the song two years ago if you want a non-movie-spoiler version. I think it's on both M.I.A.'s own youtube channel (worldtown) or on her label's (xlrecordings).

I'm pretty sure I've heard that song before the movie but darn, I loved how well it went with it. That song and the song from the credits are my two favorites from the OST. Though Latika's theme is also very good!

I first heard that song...almost a year ago. It gave my roommate nightmares, and has been a source of endless amusement for me ever since. :-D we have a dance to it and everything.

Oh, I have that song. I found it while looking for songs for my students' winter cd. I think it was NPR that listed it as a best from 98 (either as a song or from an album). Very addictive, I agree.

My favorites from the soundtrack are definitely Ringa Ringa and O Saya, although I really like Jai Ho jsut because it's so unashamedly Bollywood, both the scene and the song (grin).

But yes, Paper Planes is also a really cool one. :D
