"She's getting married, Sheldon," Leonard protested. "This isn't one of those social niceties you can just ignore because it annoys you! This is her marriage."
"She's doing it wrong!" Sheldon crushed the soda can in his hands and tossed it with noticeable force into the kitchen garbage. He looked at his best friend and tried to frame his emotions into a clear, logical path of communication. "As her friends, we have a moral obligation to intervene. Why aren't you supporting me in this? Haven't you always wanted to be her rescuer?"
Leonard ran both hands through his hair. "Even I know when to quit, Sheldon. We may be her friends but we can't interfere with her life like this. And I don't understand why you suddenly care. Last night you weren't even planning to go."
"Certain parties have presented incontrovertible evidence on the subject of Penny's wedding that have opened my eyes. Now that I know, I am compelled to act."
"Evidence..on the subject of Penny's wedding, or on the subject of you?" Leonard asked, because he'd always been able to read behind Sheldon's bullshit.
"Both," Sheldon admitted, his face twitching in rebellion as the word left his mouth. "Now get your keys and your wallet, sir. I've already packed for both of us, and we have a flight to New York in and a half two hours. It's unfortunate that I didn't RSVP, as they probably won't have incorporated our presence into the catering plan, but considering that our mission is to stop the wedding at any cost I am doubtful we'll have the time or opportunity to eat."
