Yeah, I thought this was rather adorable! Both actors seem to be really good, and I love the relationship between Castle and Alexis. I guess we'll see where this goes. I hope the ratings were good.
Same here - I watched it last night (in streaming HD - very nice!) and enjoyed it very much. Beckett had a few lines of dialogue that were very cliche, but she is smart and sassy and won't let Castle charm her ... well, not too much! I think this will be a fun show.
Some of the lines were cliche, but I felt like the actress could handle better if she was given better. Actually, she reminded me a lot of the psychologist from Cupid in the 90s. Looks a bit like her.
I thought the discussion at the writer's table was way too pat for me, too simplistic, but Castle's character outside of that was entertaining. I did like his "TELL ME YOU SAW THAT!?!?!" reaction after taking the guy down. NF can do excited glee so easily and make it look fun. I also enjoyed the peak into his family life... although we saw him signing chests and being like a cad with his language, he looks like he's a pretty docile Dad character at home, whose mother gets more action these days than him.
It's kind of in the same category as Leverage, Monk, Psych, and Stargate[s]: fun, easy tv that I can enjoy without it being a Huge Emotional Drama for me. =) Plus, Nathan F. was HOT. One of my RL friends who hardly ever talks fandom texted me today just to say "Did you watch Castle?? Captain Mal was so hot!!!"
