Feb. 9th, 2003 01:38 amI need to go see The Two Towers in theaters again.
I just had this intense desire to be watching it, the way I sometimes get that late-night chocolate craving. This was a late-night LotR craving.
I need to see Aragorn flirting with Eowyn again. I need to see the Ents got bowling for orcs again. I need to smile and cringe at Smeagol again. I need to watch Legolas throw a hissy fit in Elvish again.
I jsut a mometn ago had to willfully restrain myself from calling up friend K at this horrendous hour to make her promise to come watch Fellowship DVD tomorrow and then go with me to tTT in theaters directly after.
Thankfully I suppressed that urge-- I can't imagine she's appreciate me calling her house at almost 2 in the morning. But I'm so calling her tomorrow. Because I need to see some LotR, and I hate going to theaters alone.

What? Does that mean that normal people are actually asleep now? *gasp* Why can't everyone be a night person?

Date: 2003-02-09 02:54 am (UTC)I'm sorry to hear you ahd such a hard time of it. I've seen it twice so far, and I loved it both times, and both times went well as far as theater service.

Beats me. But yeah, I think she definitely goes to be earlier than me. And plus she's in a full house right now-- siblings, parents, and little cousins. That's like six people to curse at me in Vietnamese for calling them at at an indecent hour. No, I think I'll pass...

Date: 2003-02-09 03:21 am (UTC)The movie still rocks. I got the FotR on DVD and had to wait one week after the movie came out to go see it in the theaters. Stupid finals, flu, work... At least it was worth it. Still wish I would have taken someone with me... I love going to the theaters by myself, but I could've used someone to talk to in those long hours (one before the movie started and one without power).
Arwen rocked so much. There's a co-worker who's a LotR obsessee and I started asking him questions like crazy before the movie (since I haven't read the books yet). He found it pretty weird that I would mainly ask about the couples ;) What can I say? I'm too much of a shipper.

Date: 2003-02-09 11:05 am (UTC)I'd totally welcome you. I could use a friend with a cool accent. And San Jo is a nice place. The gas is expensive, but Santa Clara Valley is pretty. And we're only bout 40 miles from the ocean.

Date: 2003-02-09 07:38 pm (UTC)Snerk. I love that scene. Ooh, and the mounting scene! Sigh.
So, San Jose, eh? Have you ever seen a concert at the Shoreline Amphitheater? And the performers always start off with saying, "Hello San Francisco!"
Cue me grimacing. Musicians, please learn your geography.
And I agree...Northern California weather. Although this week has been sunny, usually it's not so much with the hot. I remember laughing when I first read the first chapter of "Waking The Dead," when Annie references the "heat wave."
Heat wave? SF? Huh?

Me too! I actually think that conversation between Aragorn and Legolas was my favorite scene from that movie. Well, that and of course when we seem the two armies clash at the end. But anyway, I loved that scene. It was dramatic, and the guys were really hot. And plus, "They're all going to die!" is exactly what I was thinking when I was watching it.

No, I'm a rather pathetic concert-go-er. I've only seen one concert in SJ, and it was at a smallish club (almost two weeks ago, actually).

Hm... I don't really remember what she said, but maybe she meant on the bigger picture-- like a heat wave over the whole northern portion of the state that was moving south? Anyway, don't think it doesn't get hot enough here. Believe me, it does. I've almost fainted from being overheated at least twice. The temperatures are certainly hot enough in late spring, summer and early fall that if you don't drink or eat anything and spend a few hours outside you can get overheated fast. And we have our fans on constantly during the summer. But I think the intense heat comes in stops and starts for us, and its

I always snort when I see the weather map during the summer. Everywhere across the U.S. is red, orange, even Alaska is mostly yellow. But there's this little green patch, and that's the Central Bay Area.
"On today, July 6th, highs in the 60s..."
Re:
Date: 2003-02-09 09:10 pm (UTC)::laugh:: Well, it is San Franisco. Whatever time of year I go there, I always bring a light jacket just in case its foggy and cold.

That's why the South Bay is better. Does 105.3 come in pretty clear over the radio there? That's a San Francisco station, right? Cause its always slightly fuzzy down here, so I think it must be. Did you go to the anti-war rally a month ago? I took the Bart up to SF to go.
