Yes. And he looks so lost and sad, then so quietly turbulent. Amazing what big eyes can do for child actors!

I honestly don't know if it's a compliment to ZQ, the kid, or the director that they both had the same expressions when going for the throat in their respective fight scenes. When ZQ attacks Kirk, it's like Spock reverts instantly back to this 8 year old child, who has grown but has no more control on himself now than he did back then. It's an interesting path to take for his character, and the actors pull it off beautifully.
