timepiececlockI've been trying to remember the title of this famous short story I once read in an English class. It was all about a sailor who crash-landed on this island owned by a rich madman. The madman turns out to be a professional hunter, who after getting bored hunting animals, decides humans make a more interesting prey. He releases them onto the island, and if they can survive a certain time (3 days?) they'll get a free pass out of there. Naturally, the sailor guy ends up being the next prey. I think the story was set in the 1800s or very early 1900s.
