::deep breath::

Whew! Well, time to go to bed. I've stayed up an extra three hours to finish my first BtVS wallpaper, and it looks pretty spiffy if you ask me.

But I'm still having a problem... I have some buffy fan art and some buffy icons that I'd really like to put up without asking someone else to host it for me.

So I've been looking for a free website where I can store images, that allows remote linking, so I can directly link pics here.

Does anyone know of such a site? It seems all the ones I've tried don't let you link.

I even tried to make a geocities website so that I could just link to that, but the pagebuilder won't load on my computer.

I feel like the internet hates me. I just want to put up pretty pictures....

free websites that allow hotlinking are pretty much non-existant as far as I can tell. Though you can sorta get around that by making an html page for each image with just an image tag in it, and then sending people to that page. If you use an in-line frame to access that html page, you should even be able to make it *look* like you've embedded the image in your LJ like you could if hotlinking was allowed. I hear fateback.com doesn't have ads, so that might work... doesn't your internet access account come with a little space? Or maybe you could get some through school? Or you could start a yahoo group, and then you'll have a "files" area you can upload to...

wow, you read my mind! Before I went to bed, I started a yahoo group, hoping to use the file space. :) Haven't uploaded anything yet.

Boomspeed allows remote linking, but they don't really give you a ton of space. Still, that's better than Geocities or Angelfire who don't allow it at all...

I was trying to sing up, but in the sign up process there was an error. And now I don't have the code to sign in for the first time, because they haven't mailed it to me, but it won't let me open a new account with the same email address. Any ideas?
