Thanks kimberly_a, for pointing me to this article. Like you, I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Ebert is not only a good movie critic, but a good journalistic writer as well.
And thank you for giving us the link (I'll probably see it further down in kimberly_a's posts, but I happened to hit yours first. I especially liked this line: I grew up in an America where people of good breeding did not impose their religious convictions upon those they did not know very well.
Is this the point where I have to start apologizing for the bigotry and intolerance of my fellow Christians -- again? Can't I just use a 2x4 to their heads? We could always claim it was an Old Testament, wrath of God punishment.
Ah... you don't need to apologize for the bad behavior of others. :) Besides, I have a 2x4 set aside for this sort of thing already-- no need for you to do it to your fellows.
