timepiececlockI've been thinking a lot about Farscape recently, as its nearing its final episode. I've also been thinking about Farscape fic-- something I've never had great desire to read. I've read a few ficlets or vignettes that other people might have rec'd, but for the most part I've never felt the need. It's like-- the show satisfies me completely, so that I don't have to go looking for other stories elsewhere.
But I was thinking, and I realized that I'd like to read some FS fanfic that features outside points of view about Crichton and Moya's crew. How do the aliens, the ones they met or the ones they haven't, think about the main characters? Over the show we've seen that the reputation of John and his friends has spread very far, and that havoc & chaos are things commonly attached to his name.
Other fandoms have fics like this-- where a walk-on character or imaginary casting extra observes the characters from the sidelines, and the reader gets a peak into how the rest of that world views the insanity of the main characters. Buffyfic does this with Sunnydale residents. Ranma 1/2 fic does this with Nerima residents, etc etc.
So... here's my question. Do any of the fic readers on LJ know of any good Farscape fics that do this? That are written from a sort of outsider's perspective, or that deal with how the rest of the galaxy views the crew, or John, or humanity?

Date: 2003-03-15 05:52 pm (UTC)Basically, I don't know enough to confidently write the fic. And that's an important part of writing for; I have to feel that I fully understand the characters and that I know the canon strongly.
