Music & my fantasy-land:

I downloaded the music video to Coldplay's "The Scientist," and I want Chris Martin to marry me. I'm serious--- we can't be that far apart in age, and this video makes me all gushy and sighing and star-struck.

I want him! I want him!

Fanfiction:

I can't believe I've never read this before. Just when I think I've read all the good current B/S fic out there by now... yum. One of my favorite one-shots in a long while. Go, read!

Also, Fallowdoe's wonderful Spiegel Im Spiegel is finally complete! This was one of the most linguistically beautiful pieces of fanfiction I've ever read, and I'm sorry to see it end. In reading this I always got this warm mushy feeling like I was reading some piece of classic literature... only it with Buffy and Spike and post-apocalyptic world. I hate to have it end, but I can't imagine a better ending. As a writing style, it reminded me a lot of that very gorgeous fic "The Passage of Memory," and I can guarantee if that was one of your favorites then you'll like this one too, though they're quite different stories by quite different authors.

I've reccomended this before, but I have to do so again. Everyone in BTVS fanfic who hasn't read this-- do. It won't disappoint you. The title means 'Mirror in Mirror', and that's what the story is. Reflections of one person reflecting in and upon the reflection of another person, far apart though they may be. Is it Buffy/Spike pairing? No. Yes. Well, not conventionally. Instead it's a study of two characters, a lost & struggling people, and a world made new. It's about growth and change and how you have to find yourself before you can find anyone else.

If you like Spuffy, you'll love it. If you don't like Spuffy but like Buffy as a character and Spike as a character-- you'll love this just as much. [livejournal.com profile] kita0610, this means you. ;)

Except that I adore "The Scientist" video & "Spiegel Im Spiegel" as well. The ending to the story is so beautiful, it's one of those that I think I'll be picturing in my mind for a long time.

Yes! I loved how he just dropped the book, and you just know, and you're all "aaaaawwwhhhh....", and then it talks about the birds, and it's all so perfect and fitting.

I fell in love with "The Scientist" when someone put it on a Spuffy music mix for me, and then again when I watched a John/Aeryn Farscape vid to it that just melted my heart, and seeing the actual video for it only makes me love it more. And Chris Martin! ::licks lips::

Trundling off to read good new fics since I've never seen either before...will report back.

And, AHEM!, get in bloody line for Chris Martin! He's currently dating Gwyneth Paltrow, but when he decides he'd rather have Circe (as he inevitably will!) I will be waiting with open arms and puckered lips!

::leer:: Yeah, and just like Buffy from Riley he'll be sneaking out of your bed at night and into mine! And then he'll get a soul (or maybe a diamond) for me, and we'll go ride unicorns together and spend all day having sex in [livejournal.com profile] anniesj's Denial!Land.

Thanks for rec'ing "Thin Red Lines". Very enjoyable -- the S/B dialogue was just about pitch perfect for mid-S7. I wonder if Jay-Dee has written anything else? I'm going to look around ...

Glad you liked it! I was delighted with the dialogue, myself. The Spike seemed exactly how he ought to be for this timeline. Tell me iff you find more by the author, ok? :)
