timepiececlockI'm in my dad's office typing on his comp and watching MuchMusic on his tv in the background.
Linkin park is on right now, with that song I'd don't care for, "Somewhere I Belong," and I had a thought.
Linkin Park is a band of anime fans.
They have to be, they have little mecha and Gundam figurines in shots all over this video, and their previous animated videos have had anime-like mecha in them, and the font on their CD cover looks like Japanese characters.
Think this is a cool thing, though I still don't like that song.
Also, in watching this video, I've noticed that one of the two band leads-- the singer not the rapper-- is a geek. Or he dresses like one.
There's something surreal about a skinny little guy with glasses, a geeky shirt buttoned all the way up, jumping up and down, screaming rock lyrics with burning stuff in the background.
Yeah, geeks are taking over the world.
OOH! The All American Rejects are up. I swear, the lead singer of this band reminded me of the guy who plays Clark from Smallville. I don't regularly watch that show, but they look alike. The singer being thinner than the actor, I think. But the eyes, the hair, the cheekbone structure... similar. The singer's jaw is not as square as the actor's, but it still is surprising.
Hm... the vid's over and they're showing the band interviewing & stuff now. Hn. They're cute.
ETA: ACK! people's LJ say that the Buffy series finale spoilers are out.

I still like giant robots. I quite like mecha style giant robots. And the silly japanese sci-fi technolgies. But after limited exposure I have come to the conclusion, I am not thw worlds greatest anime fan.
Oh breaking news: My brother the music Nerd seems to think that someone in the band does like anime anyway. So your right!

This is just terrible! This year the spoilers have been coming fast and furious -- why can't ME have better control over access to their scripts? Or maybe they just don't care anymore if this info gets out. I'm all twitchery (is that a word?) now ...
