ok, this BTVS fanfic I recommended earlier?

I finished reading it. I've decided the appropriate response is nothing less than flabbergasted awe.

Every Buffy fanfic reader should read this, as soon as possible. It's mind-bendingly original. Any person who likes BTVS, regardless of ship-pairing preference. This is one of those fantastic fics that has a 'ship but somehow transcends that genre to be a necessary read for anyone who watches the show.

Go, read!

ETA- What [livejournal.com profile] doyle_sb4 said after she read it: "Did e.e.cummings and Neil Gaiman have a baby together and nobody tell me?"

Read it. Guh. Um. Was capable of saying... stuff at one point.

Did e.e.cummings and Neil Gaiman have a baby together and nobody tell me?

I am so in love with this author's style.

Did e.e.cummings and Neil Gaiman have a baby together and nobody tell me?

That's the perfect description. I'm going to edit my post to include that.

Wordy McWord. That fic kicks the ass of ass-kicking things. I want to have its babies.

Definitely. I want to know how the hell she thought it up, and then how the hell she pulled it off.

I've just started it (on your rec) and am already blown away. I think this is going to rank right up there with Season Noir and Perfect World and Bittersweets...and...and...other terrific stuff.

I'd be happy to rec Perfect World by [livejournal.com profile] cousinjean Her main site is Dancing Lessons

Perfect World is a multi-chapter epic that is now complete. Yay. From cj's introduction:

Summary: A slip of the tongue creates a whole new world of problems for Spike. Picks up about 4 months after "Grave."
Spoilers: Everything through S6 is fair game, with a vague awareness of rumors about S7.Rating: R

Those pesky vengeance demons....

Let me know what you think.

Ah, I've read this! Ha. And for a second you had me doubting my self-convinced reputation as the person who's read everything Spuffy in creation.

I remember liking it a lot, but I don't think I'd put it on a level with macha's fic. I'm very picky, and some stuff of cousinjean's I like a lot(ex: Getaway), but other stuff I find her Spike seems too... fanficcy. Which is a totally strange description, I know, but bear with me. It's like-- her Buffy is great. Her writing style is very good. And her ability to think of, build, and complete a full story far exceeds my own.

But sometimes the characterizations of Spike seems to soft, or too easy, or too nice. I dunno. It's hard to articulate.

Anyway, very good fic, Perfect World.
