I thought the musical kiss was pretty realistic for a first kiss with someone you don't trust, aren't sure about your feelings for, but desire like hell. Messy, feverish, awkward, lips not connecting right. I thought it was sexy, but that's just me. It was funny when near the end of the scene, JM bites SMG's bottom lip. Ooooh, bitey ::smacks self:: (okay, mind out of gutter now).
I think it was more than a rumor. I have the old issue of EW w/SMG's interview where she talks about how she would like Buffy and Spike to get together b/c it would be cute and she thinks the character of Spike is cool and she talks about how great JM is (she actually talked a lot about it for an interview that was supposed to be about her role in Scream 2). I bet she's pretty horrified by how her one innocent comment planted the seed in JW's mind and led to the 37 car pileup that is the Spike/Buffy relationship. In the interview it sounded like she wanted the characters to interact in a Something Blue kind of way. ::Sigh:: gives new meaning to be careful what you wish for.
