Hm. Empty Places shooting script is up. Must go read.

There's a poll up at www.tvguide.com about how we think the series should end. It's turned into a shipper war. I know these things are stupid, but I can't help but vote in them.

Edited to Add: I read the shooting script, and interestingly enough Giles was even stranger than what actually aired, and Dawn was less-- actually giving Buffy the option to stay and take orders from Faith, not just kicking her out of the house outright.

Okay, I didn't think I could find the out of characterness more disturbing, but I do now. Giles is blaming her for Jenny, after all these years, when they already hashed that out repeatedly in second season? And dealt with it? And he's forgetting about all the lives she's saved repeatedly for a grudge match? WTF?? Man, this makes me nervous for the remaining episodes.

On the other hand, Joss presumably does the final editing, and he's the one writing the finale. So what he chose to take out is perhaps even more significant than what the original writer put in there...

I'm just gonna hold onto that because otherwise, I don't know what to think about Giles. That's the first positive thing I've heard about him all season- hope that it's signifigant for what will come next for his character.

It's definitely important to realize that the shooting scripts are not canon, not at all. They're about as relevant as fanfiction in the end. Mostly, that's what I treat them like. Amusing to read and intriguing to think about, but ultimately not of importance.

I'm gonna repeat what I just said to dragolyn: In the end, the shooting scripts are about as useful and relevenat as fanfic. I didn't like that Giles either, and they probably cut those parts because they realized his arguments didn't make sense or didn't fit.
