Music & my fantasy-land:

I downloaded the music video to Coldplay's "The Scientist," and I want Chris Martin to marry me. I'm serious--- we can't be that far apart in age, and this video makes me all gushy and sighing and star-struck.

I want him! I want him!

Fanfiction:

I can't believe I've never read this before. Just when I think I've read all the good current B/S fic out there by now... yum. One of my favorite one-shots in a long while. Go, read!

Also, Fallowdoe's wonderful Spiegel Im Spiegel is finally complete! This was one of the most linguistically beautiful pieces of fanfiction I've ever read, and I'm sorry to see it end. In reading this I always got this warm mushy feeling like I was reading some piece of classic literature... only it with Buffy and Spike and post-apocalyptic world. I hate to have it end, but I can't imagine a better ending. As a writing style, it reminded me a lot of that very gorgeous fic "The Passage of Memory," and I can guarantee if that was one of your favorites then you'll like this one too, though they're quite different stories by quite different authors.

I've reccomended this before, but I have to do so again. Everyone in BTVS fanfic who hasn't read this-- do. It won't disappoint you. The title means 'Mirror in Mirror', and that's what the story is. Reflections of one person reflecting in and upon the reflection of another person, far apart though they may be. Is it Buffy/Spike pairing? No. Yes. Well, not conventionally. Instead it's a study of two characters, a lost & struggling people, and a world made new. It's about growth and change and how you have to find yourself before you can find anyone else.

If you like Spuffy, you'll love it. If you don't like Spuffy but like Buffy as a character and Spike as a character-- you'll love this just as much. [livejournal.com profile] kita0610, this means you. ;)
timepiececlock: (happy birthday!)
I was extraordonarily pleased to see "Spirited Away" win best animated film.

I was sitting there, prepared to throw birthday cake at the tv if they gave it to that stupid horse movie (which I did sit all the way through, btw... god it was a bore... made for 4 year olds.) Anyway, I was quite excited that it won, and pleased that Cameron Diaz pronounced Hayao Miyazaki's name correctly too.

Still though, a part of me is annoyed that it wasn't nominated for Best Foreign Film. It really should have been.

It seems I'm not the only Chris Martin fan here. ;)

So, for your drooling pleasure, I have put up screencaps of they wonderful yummy pretty video to my favorite Coldplay song, "The Scientist." It's seven pages of 8 pictures each.. my favorites are the first and last.

You can have a taste first of Chris Martin on a matress... )

Or... skip right to all the pages! I'm going to make many pretty icons from him...

It's actually kind of a sad video, once you figure it out... but then it's not sad, because you've "gone back to the start" so everything's still good... anyway, I love it. Chris Martin walking backwards for miles... it's like the inversion of the Coldplay video "Yellow", where he was walking forwards along a beach. Only, with plot. :)
