I was downloading a lot of fanfic last night, when I noticed something. Anime fansites tend to archvie/post their fics as text files, whereas Bufy fansites tend to archive their fics as webpages.

This is neither important nor particularly interesting, but I did notice.

I got this from [livejournal.com profile] wisteria_: The Buffy & Angel Snog-o-meter, a chart of every character ship ever done in canon.

Most of y'all have probably already seen it, but it amused me to no end.

Sudden thought.

If Spike is going over the Angel next season, why would they have hired that same guy to play the scientist in Home as played Holden, the vampire that Spike sired? I mean, I noticed from when Home aired that they were the same, but I hadn't thoguht about the implications of the JM casting spoiler until now.
Did they cast that guy for Angel before knowing that Spike would join the cast? Is this some sinister spoilery plot where identities will be of significance, in which case I don't want to know anyway, but isn't it tweaky to think about?

"Did I really used to run around your lawn naked?"
"Yes. I was eight and your were four."
"That's a big age difference. Quite pervy, really."
"I like to think so."

EDIT: Ooh! Collin Firth and Hugh Grant are fighting now. So funny.

I watched this movie Lucas on Encore. It was made in 1986, and one of the characters was a 17-18 year old Charlie Sheen, who was pretty fuckable, let me tell you.

Good movie, excellent script.

Wow, my head's all messed up right now. I downloaded a whole bunch of fonts, but I forgot what I should to do to make them go from zip files into saved accessible fonts on my computer.

EDIT: on the other hand, I'm watching a Cowboy Bebop vid that uses the dialogue and sounds from the trailer for Matrix: Reloaded. And it's coolness is cheering me up.

I had this thought late last night. It was for a Cowboy Bebop fic.

I guess there's all these cliche fics where Faye gets pregnant with Spike's child. I've only read one of them, so I'm going with everyone else's assumption that there are a lot out there.

Now, I was thinking I could take that, and fuck with that idea and turn it into something else.

So I say that Spike and Faye slept together before the end of the series, and she gets pregant. Everything else goes along as you know (except with that one glaring difference at the very end that I'm not going into because this is a spoiler free post, but you all know what I'm talking about, happens in Bebop fic all the time). Flash forward 10 years. Let's say, Spike's was put into a coma for most of those years. The Bebop crew has broken up, scattered, fate unknown to each other.

One day Spike comes across a little boy. A strange little boy.

We (audience, and eventually Spike too) find out that it's Faye's son-- by him. But the clincher? Faye's dead.

That's right, this wouldn't be a sappy cliche FxS fic. Nope. Faye's dead, her son's an orphan, and this is all giving Spike a major headache.

I like this idea, because I could have good Spike character angst, I could ponder on what a child from Spike & Faye (half raised by Faye and half orphan) would be like...and I could possibly have flashback!smut, if I'm feeling really ambitious. I could have Spike/Julia angst, and Spike/Faye angst, and lots of stuff.

You few Bebop fans... would you read this?

I've never written Bebop fic before.

What would their son from Spike and Faye look like?

I'm thinking Spike's brown-red eyes, very dark hair-- either blue-purple or black, like Faye's but darker. But curly, like Spike's. Small for his age, but with promise to grow taller. Almost unhealthily thin. Pretty face, kind of like the way Elijah Wood looked when he was a really young child actor.

"Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve is the quintessential Cowboy Bebop song.

"On The Roof Again" by Eve 6 is the quintessential Ranma 1/2 song.

"Staring at the Sun" by The Offspring is the quintessential Trigun song.

"The Scientist" by Coldplay is the quintessential John Crichton / Aeryn Sun song.

"Possession" by Sarah McLachlan is the quintessential Mulder/Scully song. You'd probably argue better ones, but dammit for me that will always be their song.

I have no quintessential Buffy the Vampire Slayer song. I have seven dozen and can't list them all.

But..."Pure Morning" by Placebo and "I Will Love You" by Fisher and "Loverman" by Nick Cave tie as the quintessential Spike/Buffy song.

_ _ _
Edit to add: If I were writing a real Spike/Faye fic for CB, "Promise" by Eve 6 would be their song.
