"It's the music that you choose." -Gorillaz

"Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve is the quintessential Cowboy Bebop song.

"On The Roof Again" by Eve 6 is the quintessential Ranma 1/2 song.

"Staring at the Sun" by The Offspring is the quintessential Trigun song.

"The Scientist" by Coldplay is the quintessential John Crichton / Aeryn Sun song.

"Possession" by Sarah McLachlan is the quintessential Mulder/Scully song. You'd probably argue better ones, but dammit for me that will always be their song.

I have no quintessential Buffy the Vampire Slayer song. I have seven dozen and can't list them all.

But..."Pure Morning" by Placebo and "I Will Love You" by Fisher and "Loverman" by Nick Cave tie as the quintessential Spike/Buffy song.

_ _ _
Edit to add: If I were writing a real Spike/Faye fic for CB, "Promise" by Eve 6 would be their song.

"Pure Morning" by Placebo

i've caught myself thinking this. "...a friend who bleeds is better / ...a friend who's dressed in leather"

It's perfect for them, no? I'm listening to it right now. I stand by my decision. Even the "day's dawning, skins crawling" works for the whole vampire thing. And of course, "then she's boxing clever" is a good line. The whole friggin song.

Of course, "I Wil Love You" just makes me want to cry buckets into the ocean.

and..

Stupid LJ. cutting me off.

I meant to add that Pure Morning is also cool becase it has the upbeat, friendly, fun, sexy and somewhat twisted attitude that made B/S so enjoyable.

Damn girl - why aren't you vidding already? You are so there - it would just take a tiny little step and then you are over the precipice into that great big shiny flashy world where you talk about codecs and keyframes and camera pans. It is all there - just waiting for you. You are already a multi-fandom vidder in your heart. I know cause we are so compatible ;)

Well, I've already seen Bittersweet Symphony and The Scientist done in videos, and so excellent I have absolutely no desire to change a single bit.

Why aren't I vidding? Time. Money. I'd have to upgrade my computer to have the software and the storage space to make music videos. That's completely not feesable for me right now. See, I'm currently existing in a sort of flux state. Or is it limbo state? Anyway, I'm in a state. I'm an unemployed student and have no pocket money. Seriously, from day to day my pocket money varies from 2 dollars to 25. That's it-- that's all the money I own. And my parents are housing me and paying for food and stuff, but everything else I have to buy myself. Sadly, toys for my computer are way down on that list.

On top of that, I'm going to be going to school over the summer too.

You are already a multi-fandom vidder in your heart. I know cause we are so compatible ;)

Well, we are compatible. :chuckle: I'm sure it will happen one day... it seems inevitable to me. I've already done "vid fics", which are where you do a script-like fanfic that uses song lyrics paired with scene descriptions that flows like a video. I've done songfics and skipped into iconism. And I'm always begging people to make vids for me. That almost never works; I mena god you'd think those people, like, had their own ideas already planned for their time, or something. :snort: Riiiiight.

I'll tell you what I have done to compensate. I take a song I like, play it on my winamp, and simlutaneously play a different music video with the volume turned way down.

It's terrible of me, practically sacriligious, I know, but if you find one with close enough pace your eye sort of makes up for the inconsistencies on its own.

If I ever make a vid, the first one will probably be "On the Roof Again." And then, something Spuffy. And after that, whatever I'm into 3 years from now when all this eventually happens. Try not to get hit by lightning or drained by a vampire before then, ya? ;)
