Jun. 28th, 2003 02:30 amBeing up at late hours because of heat does strange things to you.
For example, I just took down notes in MSWord for a possible Inuyasha / Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossover fanfiction.
One that, weirdly, was a Spike-shanshu-revival fic.
And what I've come up with so far... actually makes a twisted kind of sense.
See, what if Spike's "cleansing" pendant was actually the future version of the Shikon jewel, no longer in shards? And what if Inuyasha was never meant to use the jewel to turn human anyway... that was a destiny meant for someone else, another patrial-demon, 400 years in the future?
I need sleep.

Jun. 28th, 2003 09:59 amSo I was driving back from taking my dog to the groomer's today, and thw whole way back I was thinking about the Buffy episode Lies My Parents Told Me. Especially the scenes near the end, when Buffy realizes Giles is stalling her, and then when she meets Spike outside, and then when she goes in and confronts Wood.
Not for any particular reason, but just because I think about that show a lot. It's my hobby, and I want it back. :pout:

Jun. 28th, 2003 10:29 amI'm getting less and less sleep lately.
I stay up until 1 or 2 because it's too hot to sleep.
I wake up at 8, because it's too hot to sleep.
Having a journal just gives me free pass to complain about it as often as I feel necessary.
I want to go swimming. Anyone in the San Jose / South Bay Area want to go drive to Santa Cruz with me today?

Today's headlines are rather interesting. An eventful few days, it seems.
1. US Supreme Court strikes down states' anti-sodomy laws.
My Response: This is a good thing. Let's hope they don't fuck it up. ;)
2. US Supreme Court overturned California law that allowed molestation cases to be brought to trial after the fact, effectively releasing hundreds of cases and convictions around the state and dozens of high-profil charages against Roman Catholic priests.
My Response: Well, that penchant for good-deed-doing didn't last long, did it?
3. Senator Strom Thruman dies Thursday.
My Response: He should have been retired 30 years ago. It was funny watching him trip over his own prejudistic talk a while back and make an ass of himself. I feel bad for him family.

Jun. 28th, 2003 09:00 pmSo the B/S fanfiction Vinum Et Rosae, sequel to Sang et Ivoire, has finally come to an end, at 260,000+ words and 58 chapters.
I took a temporary somewhere in the mid-30s, when the shit had started to really hit the fan.
I want to finish it, but I'm afraid that if I do, it will yank my heart out and crush it to pieces.
Someone tell me... will I be satisfied and at least semi-happy with the end? Yes/No. And no pulling my chain here, please. :pout:

I rented the first season DVD of Coupling.
Not because I was particularly energized to see it, but because I had money for exactly one movie, and Coupling beat out Punch Drunk Love in length.
It seems to be only six episodes. Awfully short 1st season.
Will update later with review.
I want y'all to know that if it sucks, I'm blaming the lot of you, for saying it was so great.
