I made a pretty (i think) S/B icon using the the translated lyrics from the second season opening of Naruto. Which is a weird crossover, but hey-- they were pretty and it works. The last pic is one of my favorite Spike images ever. They're all from the second to last ep of BTVS.
Anyway, it's shareable for anyone who wants it. :smiles:

And now onto the meat of my post...

It seems a few people whose journals/websites I've read recently have decided to reject the fan relationship term "Spuffy." They then proceed to cite reasonable and meticulously thought-out complaints (the primary one being "It's just stupid.") and proclaim that they have decided not to use said term any longer. They say it sounds demeaning and silly, and makes fun of a very. serious. and. respectable. canon. ship.

I agree completely. Excellent decision. I always liked the term Spiffy better anyway.

No, seriously, I did.

Hey, are you listening?! I'm being serious here.....

Watched Harm's Way. Spike's reasoning is moronic and unSpikelike, but it doesn't totally ruin things, so that's okay.

Harmony? Still hilarious. And I like the token Very Important Demons of the week-- the blue female ones. They were cool looking. Very entertaining episode. Now, only to download Soul Purpose and then to watching the last two weeks as well...

And yeah, Wesley and Knox are "hot guys." I liked when they had Gunn and Wes do a "totally unnecesary sexy walk-by only so that Harm could stare at their prettyness longingly and so could we."

I got one of the most beautiful fic reviews I've ever gotten today, for a HP drabble I did months ago:

The following review has been submitted to: The End Chapter: 1

From: rising waves

-------------------------------------------------------------------

HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO YOUR READERS?
YOU'RE KILLING EVERYBODY!
no wonder you get so many reviews

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so of the ten HarryPotter fics I've written, half have featured Major Character Death. I admit it.

::gigglesnertsnickergiggle:: How can I do that? With ease and all the angst that comes from being a fan of Jossverse. FANFICTION IS PAIN. Oh yes. Kill them all.

I am really diggin' the song "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service; I've heard it on the radio a few times and it's just one fo those songs where you start smiling while you're listening to it.

Anyone have that albm already and want to tell me if it's any good, or offer up an MP3?

The lyrics read just just like a poem, don't they?

"Such Great Heights"

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay
True, it may seem like a stretch, but
Its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
Head when you're away when I am missing you to death
When you are out there on the road for
Several weeks of shows and when you scan
The radio, I hope this song will guide you home

They won't see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...

I tried my best to leave this all on your
Machine but the persistent beat it sounded
Thin upon listening
That frankly will not fly. you will hear
The shrillest highs and lowest lows with
The windows down when this is guiding you home

I have been updating all my grades for my transfer applications, to include me fall stuff. It's kind of exhausting.

I now have about 80 songs I've downloaded from LJ that I still haven't sorted and all listened to yet.

Thank you, friends! You keep me alive with music.

And thank you [livejournal.com profile] saava, I got your mix A Minor Incident today in the mail! I'll be listening to it.

[Poll #244485]

I'm listening to Mathew Good's "Weapon" right now, and I can't remember if I got it from someone's LJ or if I ripped it off a music vid. Did anyone already post this and that's where I got it? Because if they didn't, then I'll put this one up as one of the first...

So. Finished episode 68. Have now seen all available episodes of Naruto on the net, fansubbed. Now I have to wait till more get fansubbed. Dang it.

sidewalk_serfer_girl has updated _Leadbelly: She Wanted To Die_.

Color me deliriously happy!

----------

EDIT:

Have read chapter 30. ::screams, shudders, and dies on the spot::

----------

::is mysteriously revived for the purpose of fic talk::

The funky thing with this story is that it's not actually a song fic, but there's so many lyrics attached to the beginning, end, or scene-changes of each chapter that you'd almost think it was. Except it's really not.

It'd be more correct to say that the lyrics that surround the chapters are a part the mood of the fanfiction the way the music was part of the episodes of Cowboy Bebop. You can ignore it, and it doesn't really get in the way or interrupt, but if you stop to pay a bit of attention, it adds that extra flavor to make a rich story even richer.
