I'm in one of the computer labs at school right now, typing away on a Mac. I hate Macs. I'm not used to them. And my "end" button doesn't take me to the end of the text line.

I sat through an hour of French hearing my teacher's voice echo back twice in my ears. It was extrememely bizarre.

You see, my ears have been plugged since yesterday because I'm sick. Besides making it impossible to sleep because of the pain, it has a weird side effect now that when people talk to me, the sound echoes within my ear. Mostly my left ear. I feel like a screwy stereo system.

Also, I feel tired.

I've watched 4 episodes of .hack//sign, and I have to say that this is the slowest freakin' series I've ever seen. However, the music is gorgeous, the animation is good, and I'm just into it enough to want to see more. But I already know it's going to test my patience quota.

I was thinking about the setting for this series, and I've decided that the RPG world of the characters is simply WAY too boring. They're all complaining about the kid breaking rules of the game and such... that world needs a frickin' revolution or civil war or something. That would be a more exciting game. Plus, who set up these Scarlet Knight guys as peace-keepers? Lame. If it was good a turly free environment, there wouldn't be any need for peace-keepers and law enforcement. And if some did develop (because no society stays in a state of anarachy for long, even a fake world), then everyone else could simply rebel until you're back to a state of anarachy again. It could be a fun cycle.

Tonight it's become intimately clear to me why opposable thumbs made us the coolest bags-of-mostly-water on the planet.

This remarkable clarity comes from almost cutting the end of my thumb off while chopping onions. ---Side note: In case you didn't know, onions are evil. They make you cry even after being refrigerated for three days. Obviously my constant tearing up around onions was a life-long warning that onions might one day ruin my opposable-thumb-superiority. Oh that I had heeded it!--- Now I have a big gross bandage made of gauze and about 4 band-aids haphazardly overlapped, covering my left thumb. Restricting thumb usage factor considerably. Add in the fact that my ear-aches from my sickness prevented me from sleeping last night... I'm kinda cranky right now. If you don't believe me, have a look at my pathetic first aid skills. Can we say lop-sided, anyone?

Oh well, it's keeping my parts together. And I'll say this about almost cutting your thumb off: though my nail's ruined, it actually doesn't hurt much. It's just... annoying. Abismally.
