I have 5 weeks to move out. To be ready to go to UCI

Ugh. Today: clothes. I am sorting everything I have. It sucks.

On the upside, I've discovered that I like Pink Floyd. Who'd have guessed?

I suppose in my disgust with modern pop music and the death of alternative grunge I am discovering classics for lack of anything better to do.

Cause octopedingenue made it just for me and I think it's gonna make me cry. FMA makes me more sad and more happy than any anime I've ever seen. It completely controls your emotions.

Oh my god. Full Metal Alchemist is doing a BTVS!Superstar or Storyteller-like episode! And it's all about Roy Mustang and his underlings!

EDIT: OH My God! I love this show! I love this show! This might in fact be the very best anime I have seen. It's better than Cowboy Bebop and Trigun and Naruto and FLCL and Fruits Basket and, if it has a good ending... well if it has a good ending, it will even rise above Escaflowne in my mind.

And how can I even talk about how much I love the characters? The military characters, Ed and Al, the Ishbal people, the Homunculous, the millions of side characters each well-developed beyond my greatest expectations...

I love this show so much.

It's odd. FMA has to be the first fandom I have where I neither ship any pairings nor personally lust for any character.

And yet, this does not both me at all. Because I love all the characters, collectively. It's collective, all-encompassing love.

Maybe it's the pain of this show. The angst. Something about it demands that I give them hugs, forever and ever, because they need it so badly.

How am I going to survive now that I'll have to wait a week before each new episode comes out? I'll go mad!

And yet, even though there's only 9 episodes left, I can feel the story coming to and end. Things are all starting to come together, to got back to the start. It's beautiful and painful and gut-wrenching at the same time.

When this hits Adult Swim in October, it will be like nothing they've ever experienced in fan reaction. No more bickering between insane Bebop and InuYasha fans on their boards. No...all will be converted. This show is a tsunami waiting to drop over the heads of hundreds of thousands or millions of Western anime fans.

Beware the Full Metal Alchemist fan madness. It is coming.

And come the end of this year, there will be a million people crying in front of their tv at least every other week.

Why am I always so tense watching FMA?

Because it's like the writers are Joss Whedon's evil siblings. Because not only do people die that I care about, but anyone could die at any time so it's like all my angst over Spike dying, Joyce dying, Buffy dying, and Tara dying multiplied by 15 and shot up through my nose down through my brainstem.

That's what watching this show is like. God. I need more caffeine.
