So, I'm up to chapter 3 on my AU Naruto fic. This fic came to me in a session of pondering the questions of Narutoverse:
What if Naruto wasn't raised as a ninja, but was hidden in a small village in the middle of bumfuck nowhere as a civilian?
It'd take long for the Atsuki to find him, and when they did he'd be totally unprepared.
What if knowing Naruto as a child inspired Iruka to become a teacher?
Then without Naruto there, Iruka might have never stopped improving and become a teacher. He might have advanced to jounin ranks instead.
What if Naruto wasn't there to be on team 7?
Some other student from their class would have.
What if Naruto wasn't there during the chuunin exams when Orochimaru came for Sasuke?
More people might have died.
What if Naruto was never friends with Sasuke?
Then abadonning the village would have been even easier for Sasuke to do.
What if Naruto never met Gaara?
Gaara might still be insane.
