1. All it takes to make me go from liking something to loving it is to add Ben Browder.
2. Ben Browder doesn't age, yo. He actually looks younger here than he did in season 4 of Farscape.
3. Ben Browder and Claudia Black are just as awesome as snarky co-travellers as they are as as angsty snarky leatherwearing soulmates.
4. That "gene pool" comment was fucking AWESOME. The delivery. The look. I was laughing out loud which I've never done for Stargate SG1 before.
5. Teal'c is totally messing with Mitchell just because he can, huh? Sucks to be the new guy.
6. The new guy is a fanboy. That just cracks my shit up in whole new and undiscovered ways.
7. I kind of like Valla and Daniel. Was she on any episodes before, or are we to simply assume they met during some off-screen mission?
8. Mitchell, I think you need a hug for the whole first half of the episode. I would be proud to serve my country in this duty.
9. I think I have an Atlantis OTP now. And I want fanfic. Can I just say, I loved how the actors played that scene? And I only watched it 4...5 times. That's it. And they weren't even on my ship radar before. Fanfic, fanfic? Anyone?
10. Ford just became an interesting character to me, which he never was before. There must be a Buffy/Jossverse rule in there somewhere... ( episode spoiler )
11. I like the tech woman who's interacting with the tech Azgard dude. They can be Rozencrants & Guildenstern. Tiny and way off to the side of the plot, but funny.
12. McKay, you and I are obviously on the same wavelength when it comes to sandwhiches. You and I and Arthur Dent.

Jul. 16th, 2005 10:31 pmToday at Albertsons we were selling HP books on the check-out stands. Unfortunately there was not one available for reading in the break room. ::pout::
Good news! I'm going to start training on Tuesday at this one hour photo place, which will have me working weekends for 8 bucks an hour in addition to the 6.75 that Albertsons pays. I'm not officially hired yet, but I think chances are good. They have to train me and see it they like me-- it's a very small, family-owned place. I think they only called me back because I gave them my resume and during an impromtu interview had convinced them that I wanted to work there even though I know absofuckinglutely nothing about portrait photography or photo development. I they didn't have any other resumes submitted, and that's why I got called.

Gungrave episode: Big Daddy
Jul. 16th, 2005 11:06 pmI love how physically uncomfortable Brandon looks in the whole "introduction to Uncle Asagi" scene. I laughed. Poor Brandon. He's probably thinking "This is absolutely absurd, but I'll do it anyway, I suppose."
It's hard to imagine there being a hired mafia thug more passive in social situations than Brandon Heat.
end: I'm really getting into this show. I'm not blown over with love and adoration, but I'm really diggin' the whole angsty mafia thing. And Brandon. The very hot woobie-in-disguise.
Usually, though, mafia stories are so very not my preference, anime or otherwise. Mostly because I despise all the people involved, even the ones who are technically "protagonists" of the story. That's why I couldn't stand to watch The Sopranos after a while. In this case, however, I'm enjoying Brandon's development. Maybe it's just cause he's so very hot? I did kinda like Donnie Brasco for that reason...
And mostly I'm diggin the whole "this will all end in pain" portent-y vibe you get from basically the first episode. I am anticipating that, waiting for the other ball to drop. And in the meantime, enjoying the bishounen eyecandy.
