Ok, anime fans. I know there's a few of you out there, because you answered my earlier journal posts.

Of those of you that exist, step forward all those who've seen Cowboy Bebop!

And now the very skimpy number of you, give me fic recs. Hit me with good, long, epic Bebop fic that I may ingest without shame. Faye/Spike slant being preferable.

C'mon... pretty please?

Well, the sad truth is Shaka that A LOT of the Bebop fic out there, especially at ff.net and in particular the Spike/Faye stuff, basically sucks ass. It's mostly written by 14 yrs olds who lack in basic writing skills and write song fics and really reaching A/U's where Spike miraculously comes back to life (cuz it's the only way he and Faye will ever be together you see) that pledge Spike and Fayes eternal love. And you wonder why I can't stand this ship or most of it's supporters? I read Jet, or Jet/Faye (post series) fic. And if I do say so myself, I've got le creme de la creme archived at my Bebop (http://lina.onnacafe.com/j&f/index2.html) site. It's mostly Jet-centric with some Faye-ish, but I think you'll enjoy Now With More Fiber's work. It's starts out with Spike/Faye undertones, but the ending of the series is something else.

Start with Outside Looking In (http://lina.onnacafe.com/j&f/fanfiction/now_with_more_fiber/Outside%20Looking%20In.htm), then Castle In the Pyrenees (http://lina.onnacafe.com/j&f/fanfiction/now_with_more_fiber/Castle%20in%20the%20Pyrenees.html), and finally Turning Blues to Black (http://lina.onnacafe.com/j&f/fanfiction/now_with_more_fiber/Turning%20Blues%20to%20Black%201.htm).

You might also enjoy DragonKat's and TianNing's Post Bebop and quite plausible A/U After the Nova (http://bebop.bio.miami.edu/nova.html). DragonKat is a huge Spike fan and a Spike/Faye shipper and she has other fics at the site that is focuses on them and Spike's past with the Red Dragon Syndicate.

Sorry I can't rec any specific S/F. I don't read it.

Ah! That would be Jeiq. She writes incredible Lin fic (JJp1). Her website is Tongari: A Lin Shrine (http://www.angelfire.com/ar2/thierry/lin.html). She hasn't updated in a while I don't think, but I just checked out her ff.net profile and she has a LJ O.O

the OLD bebop board

I practically lived there over the summer. But then they poofed and I couldn't get anyone to tell me the new location. Definite conspiracy to keep all Jet/Faye shippers out I say ;) Though, Big Big Truck (EK) and Jupe are J/F shippers too.

Just in case you're not aware of the new MB link or if shaka doens't know, it's: The Bebop Board (http://www.bebopboard.com/bebopboard/).

::giggle:: I'm rather liking the ones where he doesn't actually die in the first place. But yeah, I can tell.

I have my standard ff.net fic-finding method:

I use the list filters 'romance'/'wordcount'/character or whatever, and then I scroll through until I find a first few decent or good stories. Then I look at those author's favorites lists and profiles. Which leads to more favorites lists. And about 8/10 times, most of what other people bother to mark as "favorite" is worth reading.

And then, if I get stuck because they don't list their fvorites, I leave a review for one of the better stories I've found, and flatter the writer then ask them for recs. Most people are happy to rec stuff to you, especially if you review and then ask their opinion.
