Several good things just happened.

Anniesj AND wisteria added my journal to their friends lists.

I finally found where 'Waking the Dead' is being posted.

LIMBER UPDATED! 'Base Elements' is back in active ficdom!!!

'Confronting the Sun' was updated.

'Necessary Evils' was updated.

I just discovered the 'His Childe' series and am kicking myself for not reading it before.

You can now buy from the offical Buffy merchandizing people a black mini-T and underwear set with the logo for Spike's name in that wicked cool font hovering in large pointy white letters over one's ...busom and other...areas...

I'm SO putting the pic up for that when I find it again. I think the marketing people are finally starting to understand the way the female fan mind works. In a word: dirt-ily. ^_-;;

BUFFY STARTS IN ONE WEEK! I MUST SEE WHAT SPIKE WILL LOOK LIKE POST-SOUL! I MUST HAVE MORE GILES LINES! I MUST SEE DAWN'S UBER-SHINY HAIR AND BITCH AT ITS SCREAMING UNFAIRNESS!

FIREFLY STARTS IN FOUR DAYS! GO JOSS!

INU-YASHA'S ON THE CARTOON NETWORK! THE ADULT SWIM LINE-UP IS MY OTHER REASON FOR LIVING!

COLLEGE STARTS IN SIX DAYS! YEEEK!

...and I'm about to go make myself a nice leftover bowl of the most fantastic chilli on the planet for lunch. With rice. The poor people who still use hamburger in chiili have never tasted true food-lover's heaven.

Adn lastly, though I don't know what to make of this...

The quiz says my sex toy identity is... (Close your eyes if you're under 13 or for some reason hate the color blue):

I Am The Sex Toy:

Hi-Tech Masterpiece: Some say that I was developed in a top secret lab while others say I was developed by aliens for my probing capabilities, but only I know the truth! My mission here on earth is to launch a full out assault on your genitals with my spinning beads, vibrations, and clitoris teaser. My LCD screen keeps you informed, but only with information I want you to have! Mwua-ha-ha!

Find out what sex toy you are.

And my romance meter says:

My Romance Meter
Optimist 80%
..
20% Cynic
Close 86%
..
14% Distant
Long Term 69%
..
31% Brief
What does my romance meter read?

I second that Yay!

'Confronting the Sun' was updated.

What? Where? Ack! ::runs off to find fic::

'Necessary Evils' was updated.

One of many I've forced myself to wait to read until it's finished.

I just discovered the 'His Childe' series and am kicking myself for not reading it before.

::taps her foot:: Do you not read the recommendation thread at CW?? I think I even recommended it. ::stern look::

Actually, she just updated 'Her Sire' this afternoon and I'm about to go read. ::bounce::

Well... to be honest I'd seen 'His Childe' on ff.net and at CW, but for soem reason the summary had turned me off. So I ignored it for a long time. Then I'd read one of her otehr stories, the "Days in the Sun" series, and I'd loved it. Especially (paraphrasing) Spike's line to Joyce "She slept with me, she laughed with me, but she never told me she loved me! And then she left! She took my daughter and she left!" I got all sorts of giddies from that emotional line.

So I gave this other fic a try, and read the first 5 LONG chapters last night. Let's jsut say, I went to bed late. But I'm loving it. There's something so appealing about a tragic Spike whose suffering in silence for the sake of his true ladylove's happiness, being all noble, and she wants him but is still deluding herself but he continues to suffer anyway on her behalf, caus he loves her that much... god, I'm SUCH the sap.

Have you read the series of ficlets she's published that are also in the "To See the Sun" verse? To See the Sun is one of my favorite stories, and I ran across it only by reading His Childe. BTW, if you liked that one, then you'll probably also like Winter's Weathered Series (http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=184342). It's much slower in the payoff, if you're looking for B/S romance (in fact it's only really just starting and she's on the third story in the series), but it's well-written, entertaining and periodically angsty.
