it is an excellent quote.
Alas some other great American when leading a toast said;

"To our country; may she always be in the right, but to our country none the less!"
I sometimes think thats how a lot of people think, that to question there nation is wrong, that it shows some lack of comitment. Ironic, because the USA was born when a few brave people stood up and asked questions..


I also like this one from Jefferson (quoting from memory here) speaking about croporation and Companies:

"I hope at some point something is done to stop these new aristocracies before they too strangle our new found republic"
